The Duo Formerly Known as Kidz

The Duo Formerly Known as Kidz

  • As a theatre artist and writer of musicals, comedy sketches, and stageplays, my creative journey is a dynamic exploration of social justice narratives, where stage and screen serve as my canvases. My commitment lies in weaving satirical tapestries that engage with contemporary issues, particularly those surrounding Black identity, intersectional feminism, and diverse representation. My personal odyssey as a transracial adoptee in a conservative, religious, and predominantly white upbringing became a catalyst for my emancipation. Emerging into adulthood, I liberated myself from inherited values, embracing an autonomous identity. My artistic endeavors are a conscientious response to the disparities faced by marginalized communities, notably people of color and women. My creative arsenal is wielded to shed light on injustice while steering the narrative towards empowerment and positive transformation. Informed by a deep understanding of global realities, my work acts as both a mirror reflecting societal struggles and a compass guiding the way forward, urging collective change and enlightenment.
