Headshot & Resume

  • Samantha O’Brochta, a seasoned performer, brings a vibrant blend of talents to the stage as a singer, actress, comedian, and dancer, amassing a wealth of experience over her impressive 30-year career. Her journey into the world of entertainment began at the tender age of three, when a tripping mishap during a nativity play ignited her passion for making audiences laugh and paved the way for a lifelong love affair with the spotlight.

From her humble beginnings as a lamb in that nativity play, Samantha's dedication to her craft blossomed throughout her youth. She became a fixture in dance studios and local community theaters, captivating audiences with her performances in dance competitions across the Seattle area and delivering memorable acts on various stages in the Pacific Northwest.

In 2011, Samantha's career reached new heights when she joined the chorus in Seattle Opera's production of Porgy and Bess, marking her induction into the prestigious American Guild of Musical Artists. Notable highlights in her career include portraying Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance, realizing her dream role as Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and serving as both a cast member and musical director for the world premiere of Corktown, Or, Through the Valley of Dry Bones by Jeff Augustin.

Taking a hiatus after college, Samantha gained diverse work experience and explored the world. To maintain her creative edge, she pursued improv and sketch courses at the Upright Citizens Brigade and Magnet Theater training centers in New York City and showcased her acting skills in various web series and shorts. In 2018, she rekindled her passion for theatre, securing a chorus role for the second time in Seattle Opera's production of Porgy and Bess, reigniting her fervor for the art form. This renewed commitment culminated in Samantha earning a Master’s in Acting from the University of East London in 2020.

A classically and contemporary trained mezzo-soprano, Samantha possesses a dynamic low-belt and an operatic upper-range that captivates audiences. Her dance repertoire spans various styles, with a penchant for hip-hop, jazz, and tap, and she is known for her quick mastery of choreography. While not confined to a particular acting style, Samantha's natural aptitude for comedy shines, and she excels in musical theatre and improv, proving her versatility as a performer.
