Oman on 35mm Film

Taking multiple cameras on a trip can be a big task, especially when they’re heavy and all require different shooting techniques, but on my recent adventure to my 44th country, Oman, I brought along my Olympus OM-1 and some rolls of Kodak Portra 800 (RIP, if you know you know). In hindsight, I probably shouldn’t have shot 800 ISO film in an extremely sunny place because the grain was so strong in the final images and I didn’t need that high of an ISO to capture the beauty of the landscapes, but I am still content with the photographs I produced during my 10 days abroad. Oman is a beautiful country in the Middle East that is very underrated as a destination and I hope more people visit and experience its beauty, especially the Rub Al-Khali Desert, which is the largest dune desert in the world.
